Dance Portraits - Planning Your Event
|
12+ Months Prior
Form the Event Committee
Whether Dances are a responsibility of the Class Officers, Student Government, or a completely separate group, make sure that all interested parties are included in the planning process.
Set a Date & Time
By setting the date and time for your event early in the planning process, you eliminate the possibility of looking at locations and suppliers that are unavailable for your needs. Make sure all dates, times and locations are approved through your school's administration.
Select a Venue
The site you secure for your dance will play a major role in its overall success. Scout locations that provide an atmosphere to complement your theme. Some schools may be required to use their gymnasium. If so, make sure to reserve this space for your date and ensure that other conflicting events will not be scheduled. If not, start looking at restaurants, ballrooms and banquet halls, country clubs, etc. Most of the popular venues book a year in advance, so if you find a place that you like don't procrastinate in securing it.
