Friends, smiles and memories-it's all captured in the yearbook
Every school year is filled with fun times, new friendships and opportunities to grow and learn. The yearbook records events during the school year that hold special meaning. It also captures the school's spirit and the important role that each student and staff member play in the school community.

Five Key Functions of the Yearbook

  1. Memory Book: The photos, headlines and captions in the yearbook preserve school memories for a lifetime. Years from now, students and their families will be able to recall these memories. In many schools, it is traditional for students to sign each other's yearbooks. These autographs are fun to look back on years later.
  2. Reference Source: The yearbook should accurately document names, titles, honours and other relevant data. A copy of the yearbook should be archived in both the community and the school library for future reference.
  3. Community Builder:  The yearbook is a wonderful way to build school spirit and pride. After all, it highlights what makes the school great-the people in it.
  4. Self-Esteem Booster: When students see themselves in the yearbook, it sends an important message: They are a special and significant part of the school community. This is why it's crucial to feature every student in the yearbook.
  5. Educational Tool: The yearbook provides a fantastic learning opportunity for students. Students develop skills such as writing, design, photography, selling and more. Most importantly, they learn to work with others to achieve a common goal.
